Accessibility

We want everyone to be able to browse, compare and buy from this store, including people who use screen readers, keyboards, screen magnification or voice control. Accessibility is treated as a defect when it is missing, not as an optional extra.

What we target

We aim to meet WCAG 2.1 Level AA. Concretely, that means:

• Semantic HTML headings and landmarks, so screen readers can navigate by structure
• Every interactive control reachable and operable with a keyboard alone
• Colour contrast of at least 4.5:1 for body text against its background
• Product images carry descriptive alternative text
• Form fields have real labels, and errors are described in text rather than colour alone
• The layout reflows down to a 320px-wide viewport without horizontal scrolling

Known limitations

Some product photography supplied by manufacturers carries imperfect alternative text, and a small number of older listing documents (PDFs) may not yet be tagged for screen readers. We are working through these as listings are refreshed.
